Ingredients
- 9" partially baked pie shell , 375 for about 10 min
- 2 large vidalia onions, sliced thin
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 2 T butter
- 4 oz provolone cheese, shredded or sliced into thin slices
- 1 oz smoked gruyere, shredded
- 4 eggs
- 1 C heavy cream
- 1 med tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs, i used dill, parsley, and a little tarragon
- salt, pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
