Vidallia Oniontomato And Bacon Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 9" partially baked pie shell , 375 for about 10 min
  • 2 large vidalia onions, sliced thin
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 T butter
  • 4 oz provolone cheese, shredded or sliced into thin slices
  • 1 oz smoked gruyere, shredded
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 C heavy cream
  • 1 med tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs, i used dill, parsley, and a little tarragon
  • salt, pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
