  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 pints oysters and their liquor, picked over to remove any bits of shell
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 fresh, boiled artichoke hearts, cut into 1/2-inch slices
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, seasoned with 1 teaspoon Essence, recipe follows
