Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 1/2 cups allpurpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) lard, chilled
  • 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) butter, chilled
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 egg

  • 2 (4ounce) cans sardines, drained
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 bunch chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 pound Swiss chard, washed and coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
