Open-Face Onion, Goat Cheese and Pine Nut Tart

Ingredients

PASTRY

  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. Pinch of salt
  3. 2 large egg yolks
  4. 3 tablespoons olive oil
  5. 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  6. 5 tablespoons cold water 

FILLING

  1. 1 1/2 pounds yellow onions, very thinly sliced
  2. 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing
  3. 1 pound Swiss chard
  4. One 1-inch cinnamon stick
  5. 8 whole cloves
  6. 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  7. 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  8. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  9. Salt
  10. 1/2 pound fresh goat cheese
  11. 8 ounces crme frache
  12. 1/4 cup pine nuts
