3 cups chicken broth (homemade chicken or vegetable stock is even better)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon cayenne (or to taste, go easy if you have kids)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 3/4 cups puréed pumpkin (1 16-ounce can) (I use roasted butternut squash or acorn squash)
1 cup whole milk (or low-fat yogurt)
Minced parsley or chives or garnish
