  • SAUSAGE PATTIES
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey or pork

  • LENTILS
  • 1/2 pound (1 cup) lentils
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 small onions (3 ounces), peeled and chopped
  • 4 large doves garlic, peeled, crushed and finely chopped (3 teaspoons)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco hot pepper sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Dij9n-style mustard
  • CABBAGE (optional)
  • 6 cups water
