  • 1 x bay leaf
  • 1 lrg rutabaga - (abt 2 lbs) peeled, and
  •     cut into 1" pcs
  • 6 med carrots cut crosswise
  •     into 1"-thk pcs
  • 6 med waxy-style potatoes unpeeled, and
  •     cut into 1" pcs
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter softened
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
