Penne with tomato sauce

Ingredients

For the sauce

  • 350 ml passata
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 400 g tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 handfuls basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp concentrated tomato pure
For the mince

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 knob butter
  • 2 carrots, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 stick celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp red wine
  • 400 g minced beef
  • 100 g pancetta, chopped
To serve

  • 400 g dried penne
