  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon  balsamic vinegar, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon  salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon  freshly ground pepper, divided
  • 1 teaspoon  cornstarch
  • 1 1/2-2 pounds  boneless duck breasts, (see Shopping Tip), trimmed, skin removed
  • 1 tablespoon  chopped fresh basil
