Makeover: Spaghetti Sauce (by Subsmith)


    1 lb. Hot Italian Sausage
    1 T. olive oil
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 med. onion, chopped (whole onion if desired)
    1 med. red bell pepper
    4 oz. mushrooms (1/2 an 8 oz. carton)
    1 1/2 t. Italian Seasoning
    1/2 t. hot red pepper flakes
    1 can Hunt's Chunky Veg. Spaghetti Sauce
    Optional: small can of tomatoes for thinner sauce
    1/4 cup red wine
    1 cup water (use as needed if sauce simmers down too thick)
    1/2 lb fresh or frozen zucchini slices
    1/2 oz of freshly grated Romano Cheese for garnish
