Ingredients

  • 700g sliced lamb
  • 2 level tsp powdered garlic
  • 1½ level tsp ginger powder
  • chilli powder to taste (suggest 1 level tsp)
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp white poppy seeds – roasted and then ground in a pestle and mortar
  • 500g pot of natural yoghurt
  • 3 onions, sliced thinly
  • 12 cloves
  • 24 black peppercorns
  • 6 to 8 green cardamoms
  • 4-5 bay leaves
  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
