Ingredients
- 1.5kg sauer kraut or fermented sour cabbage
- large onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic diced
- large cooking apple , peeled, cored and diced
- 50gr dried mushrooms soaked
- vegetable bouillon/Vegeta to taste
- few whole all spice
- few whole peppercorns
- some juniper berries (optional)
- bay leaves
- salt, pepper to taste
- a little water
- Diced smoked sausage (kielbasa in Polish )or equivalent, ham or Chorizo also works -fried for 5 mins or until browning
Description
This Is Probably The National Dish Of Poland. It Is Fantastic Served Steaming On A Cold Day With Some Nice Crusty Bread. Sour And Sweet At The Same Time. One Of My Favorites. :D
