South Of The Border Silky Hot Chocolate Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 Red Chile pepper, (Jalapeno or Serrano)cut in half, seeds removed.
  • 5 cups light cream or whole milk
  • 3 Tablets mexican chocolate, cut into 1/4-inch pieces or 8 oz High Quality (70% cocoa or more) bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise or 1Tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbls honey, or to taste
  • 1 to 2 cinnamon sticks
  • l Tbls almonds or hazelnuts, ground extra fine
  • whipped cream
  • Aged tequila (Optional)
