- 3 medium-size cloves garlic, peeled
- For the meatballs
- 4 pounds ground meat
- 2 pounds ground pork
- salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 2 teaspoons basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 slices Italian bread cut into bite-size cubes
- 1 tablespoon grated Romano or parmesan cheese
