White Bean Spread Or Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 small red onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Pinch of salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 15.5 ounce cannellini beans or other white beans (about 1.5cups)
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil or rosemary, or thyme or mint (can used dried, too)
  • Note- I usually double this recipe
