Auntie Lou's Seafood Chowder Recipe


  • 1 quart clam broth (available at most markets at the fish counter)
  • 3 tsp Clam Base (optional)
  • 2 cups water Only use if using the clam base
  • 3-4 red bliss potatoes, diced
  • 1-2 celery ribs, chopped.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2-3 tsp dried thyme
  • 3/4 lb haddock, or other white fish
  • 1/2 1l. shrimp, peeled, deveined, and sliced in half horizontally
  • 1/3 lb. scallops
  • 3/4 lb. fresh minced clams
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, rendered and removed
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4-1/2 cup flour (use more if you like chowder thick)
  • salt & black pepper to taste


This Is A Family Original Recipe. It Is So Delicious And Creamy. You Can Substitute Any Of Your Favorite Seafoods And Is A Very Forgiving Recipe. You Can Also Make It Thicker By Adding In More Flour....I Like My Chowder A Mediu
