Ingredients
- 1/4 lb giblets
- 2 cups uncooked rice, long grain *(I used jasmine rice)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon, plus cinnamon to garnish
- 1 - 2 tsps salt
- 1/2 cup almond halves or chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup seedless raisins
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)
- 1/4 cup pine nuts, browned in butter for garnish
- Chopped parsley for garnish
- 1 medium size garlic clove, leave whole
- *NOTE: Instead of using a regular long grain rice, I used a long grain American jasmine rice called Jasmati. I love the flavor of this rice and have been using it in place of regular long grain rice.
Description
This Is A Rice Dish That I Have Adapted From One Of My Lebanese Cookbooks. It Is Delicious And You Could Have It As A Main Dish Served With Fattoush, Spinach Or Other Vegetable Salad.
