  7. 2 sticks plus 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  8. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  9. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  10. 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  11. 1 cup buttermilk
  12. 1/4 cup Calvados
  13. 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  14. 2 teaspoons finely grated orange zest
  15. 3 large eggs
