Aunt Loi's Bouillabaisse


  • Two and one-half fish (freshwater or saltwater fish can be used)
  • Salt and cayenne to taste
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 3 large onions, coarsely chopped
  • 2 green bell peppers, coarsely chopped
  • 2 ribs celery, coarsely chopped
  • Two one-pound cans whole tomatoes, undrained and broken into chunks
  • One-fourth cup dry white wine
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
