Naan Khatai (shortbread)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour, (maida). you can substitute it with self raising flour but in that case, leave out the salt and baking powder.
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 12 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 12 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 4 Whole Green Cardamom Pods, (green ilaichi). take out the seeds from the pods and finely crush.
  • 13 cup Unsalted Butter, bring butter on room temperature before mixing. it should be soft but not liquefied. you can substitute butter with desi ghee or vegetable oil.
  • 5 Natural Pistachios, finely chopped for garnishing.
