  • Two 16-ounce boneless beef rib eye steaks
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups kimchee cabbage, drained
  • 16 round rice paper wrappers
  • 16 butter lettuce leaves
  • Pickled Asian Pears, recipe follows
  • Fresh mint, Thai basil and cilantro leaves, for garnish
  • 1/2 cup toasted pine nuts

  • 1 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Heavy pinch salt
  • 2 Asian pears, cut into 1/4-inch batons
