Baked Steak Macedoine

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut 1 inch thick and trimmed of fat
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon molasses or dark corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cube gresh peeled ginger root
  • 1 7 oz jar whole straw or button mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 cup fresh carrots, peeled and cut on bias
  • 1/2 cup fresh broccoli flowerets, 3/4 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup fresh cauliflower florets, 3/4 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup sweet red bell pepper, sliced into 2 x 1/4 inch strips
  • 1/4 cup water for vegetables
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
