Bowties Alfredo With Broccoli

Ingredients

    16 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
    1/2 lb broccoli florets, fresh or frozen, about one head Note: for food scales/recipe building purposes, 1/2 lbs = 227 grams.
    1/2 cup nonfat or low fat ricotta or cottage cheese I use the Polly-o part-skim ricotta that I can order from Fresh Direct.
    1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
    1 T butter or margarine I use SmartBalance Light spread for almost anything that requires butter. 45 calories/5 g fat per tablespoon and no cholesterol.
    1 tsp minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
    1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1 teaspoon dried basil
    1/2 tsp table salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper
