Szechuan Beef & Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients

  • Whole pepper corns- 1 tbsp
  • Dried chili peppers - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger root- 1.5 cm long, grated finely
  • Garlic cloves - 3-4, crushed
  • Water chestnuts - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
  • Snow peas - 1 cup, whole (or halved if too big)
  • Capsicum/ bell pepper(any colour) - 1, julienned
  • Carrots - 1 lrg, julienned
  • Green onions/ scallions - 3, chopped into 1 inch long pieces
  • Soy sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Cider vinegar - 1 tbsp
For the Marinade:
  • Beef rib-eye steak- 1 lb, cut into thin strips
  • Tomato sauce/ketchup - 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Cider vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - adjust to taste, since the soy sauce will be salty
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
