  • For the sauce and spaghetti:
  • 1 medium red onion
  • olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, very finely chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped, fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
  • salt to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti
