Oatmeal Herb Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 1/2 - 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 package active, dry yeast
  • 3-4 tablespoons freshly snipped herbs (combination of basil, oregano,marjoram or thyme or 1 to 2 teaspoons dried herbs, crushed)
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
