To finish:
1/4 cup green onions, sliced thinly on the bias

1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder
1/2 pound parsnips, peeled
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon sugar

For the Latkes:
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon apple cider
1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled
