  • 1/2 cup day-old bread crumbs, medium to fine crumb
  • 1 garlic clove, finely grated or minced
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lamb fat or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • One 14-ounce can diced tomatoes
  • Fresh or dried oregano, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons harissa
