Angel Biscuits

Ingredients

Makes 2 dozen

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast (1 scant tablespoon)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted and cooled to 115 degrees
  • 2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
