  • 1/2 cup canned 99 % fat-free vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup sliced scallions
  • 3 medium cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) chickpeas, rinsed
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • Garnish: sliced green part of scallion and 2 strips red bell pepper, cut top to bottom
  • Crudité: assorted raw vegetables
  • Pitas, cut in wedges
