  • 2 14-1/2-oz. cans  pitted tart red cherries (water pack)
  • 1-1/2 cups  sugar
  • 1/4 cup  cornstarch
  • 1 tsp.  ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp.  butter
  • 1/2 tsp.  almond extract
