Lamb With Peppered Pears

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces  lean boneless lamb, cut into thin bite-size strips
  • 1/2 cup  water
  • 1/3 cup  orange marmalade or apricot spread
  • 1 tablespoon  snipped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon  coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon  salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon  cayenne pepper
  • 1 clove  garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon  cooking oil
  • 2 medium  pears, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 small  red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 of a medium  red sweet pepper, cut into thin strips
  •   Hot cooked rice sticks (optional)
