  • 1 medium-size  ripe avocado
  • 1-1/2 cups  plain yogurt (preferably whole-milk)
  • 3 tablespoons  extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 to 2 cloves  garlic, minced
  • 3/4 teaspoon  ground cumin (preferably toasted and freshly ground)
  • 1 teaspoon  kosher salt; more to taste
  • 1/3 cup  loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons  fresh mint leaves
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons  fresh lemon juice
  •   Freshly ground black pepper
