Chick Pea and Sweet Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 15.5 oz cans chick peas, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 sweet potatoes or yams, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 sweet red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1/2 large onion or 1 small onion, chopped very small
  • 3/4 cup rice (brown or white, not instant)
  • 4 beef franks, sliced
  • 3 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 rosemary sprig
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon of dry thyme
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
