Jasmine Shrimp Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic, about 3 large cloves
  • 3/4 cup thinly sliced green onions 
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced, or to taste
  • 5 cups cooked jasmine rice, cold* 
  • 2 tablespoons sugar 
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce 
  • 2 tablespoons Asian fish sauce 
  • 2 cups shrimp, peeled, deveined and chopped (about 12 oz.) 
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro 
  • 1 cup chopped fresh basil leaves 
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
