Szalajda’s Cabbage, Pasta & Spinach Slop Recipe

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter or margarine, divided
  • 1 ½ pounds ham, diced in ½” cubes
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced into half rings
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 1 cup sour cream (optional but highly recommended)
  • 1 - 12 ounce package egg noodles or pasta of choice
  • Optional garnishes: more Caraway seeds; diced chives or Green Onions; grated carrot; or grated parmesan cheese.
