- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 5 large eggs, separated
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- GLAZE:
- 2 tangerines or 1 navel orange
- 1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- CANDY DAFFODILS:
- 4 to 8 yellow fruit chews (depending on size), such as Laffy Taffy or Starburst
- 4 green fruit chews, such as Laffy Taffy or Tootsie roll
- 4 small orange spice drops
- 1 container (1 ounce) white nonpareils
