Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1/2 cups flour
- 2t baking powder
- 1t cayenne(or less, to taste)
- 1/2t salt
- 1/2t fresh ground pepper
- 2T fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 small or 1/2 large onion, grated
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1T bacon grease(melted, but not hot)
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- peanut oil for frying
