- 1/2 pound uncooked sausage
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs, cracker crumbs, or oatbran
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk or half & half
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 T worcestershire sauce (to your taste)
- salt, pepper (to your taste)
- 4 cups water or stock
- For the gravy:
- 3 T butter
- 1 T sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp. hot paprika
- 1/2 cup onion, diced very finely
- 3 cups total of beef stock, chicken stock, or a combination
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour or 1/4 c corn starch
