Ingredients
- 1 Stick of butter,unsalted(no sub.please,just real butter)
- 1/4 Cup brown sugar,firmly packed
- 6 Tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 Cups figs,dried,and quartered
- 2 Cups walnuts,chopped coarsely
- 1/4 Cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 Crumb Crust
- For Creamy Sauce:
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar,firmly packed
- 2 Tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 -1/2 Tablespoons instant espresso powder
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons butter,unsalted
- 3 oz unsweetened chocolate,chopped
- 1/2 Cup heavy cream
- 1-1/2 Tablespoons coffee liqueur
- Combine the brown sugar,corn syrup,espresso powder,and butter in pan,bring mixture to boil,and continue to boil(watching,stirring) for about 1 to 1/2 minutes.Remove the pan from heat and stir in the chocolate,and heavy cream,stir until chocolate melts and sauce is smooth.Pour sauce through a fine mesh strainer into container. Stir in coffee liqueur,cool,cover,refrigerate.Reheat sauce before serving with slices of pie.
