Ingredients

• asparagus-Pecan Quiche
• From the cookbook Country chicken
• 1 unbaked pastry shell(9 inches) I use a homemade crust recipe I have with whole wheat flour
• 1 cup cut fresh or frozen asparagus(2 inch pieces) I used fresh
• 1 1/4 cups (5 ounces) shredded swiss cheese. I used whole slices and just tore them up.
• 1 cup cooked chicken
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans, divided
• 1/4 cup onion
• 1 tbsp flour
• 1 1/2 cups half and half cream
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 1 tsp Dijon mustard( I didn't have any Dijon so I used honey mustard)
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3 drops hot pepper sauce( I skipped this)
• 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
