Ingredients
- asparagus-Pecan Quiche
- From the cookbook Country chicken
- 1 unbaked pastry shell(9 inches) I use a homemade crust recipe I have with whole wheat flour
- 1 cup cut fresh or frozen asparagus(2 inch pieces) I used fresh
- 1 1/4 cups (5 ounces) shredded swiss cheese. I used whole slices and just tore them up.
- 1 cup cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 cups half and half cream
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard( I didn't have any Dijon so I used honey mustard)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 drops hot pepper sauce( I skipped this)
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
