Ingredients
- Easy Marinara

- 1 14oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 14 oz can Italian style diced tomato
- 1 14oz can tomato sauce
- about 2 oz tomato paste(if needed to thicken sauce to desired consistency)
- 1 small or 1/2 a large onion, diced
- 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh Italian herbs, finely chopped(parsley, basil, oregano, etc)
- 1/2t baking soda
- sea or kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 2T butter or olive oil
- meatballs
- -----------------
- 1lb ground Italian sausage-mild or hot
- 1lb ground meat(beef, turkey, venison, or pork)
- 2 eggs, depending on size
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1T worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 fresh Italian herbs, as above
- 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- dash of crushed red pepper flakes(optional)
- 1T dry minced onion
- 1t garlic powder
- 8 sub or hoagie style rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 3T melted butter
- fresh grated parmesan cheese, if desired
Description
My Version Of A Classic. Rather Than Using My Usual Marinara And Meatballs, I Switch Things Up And Put Most Of The Flavor In The Meat, And Keep The Sauce More Simple. We LOVE How This Comes Together.
