- 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil.
- 2 slices country bread
- tablespoon of the mayo mixture.
- thick slices of hard-cooked eggs
- additional mayo to taste.
- your choice of anchovies, capers or pitted kalamata olives.
- basil leaves
- Note: You may substitute a bottled lemon-flavored mayonnaise. Don't skimp on the mayo; it's both flavor and glue.
