Monte Cristo Sandwich With Country Fried Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Sheppard’s bread (or your favorite white/egg bread, texas toast bread would be awesome)
  • 2 slices of swiss cheese
  • 2 slices of American cheese (Kraft Deli Slices are best)
  • 4 oz thinly sliced smoked turkey breast
  • 4 oz thinly sliced black forest ham
  • 2 tablespoons Dijonaise spread (mayo mixed with honey mustard, to taste)
  • 2 whole eggs
  • Splash of cream
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
  • 4 tbsp whole unsalted butter
  • 4 oz raspberry jam (or your favorite berry jam)
  • maple syrup, as much as you desire!
  • powdered sugar, to garnish
  • Country Fries:
  • 1 tablespoon each of oil and butter
  • 4 medium yukon gold potatoes, peeled, par-boiled, cooled, cubed
  • McCormick’s Montreal roasted garlic chicken seasoning (yep!), to taste
  • kosher salt and pepper to taste

A Fun Variation Of The French Croque-monsieur. I Love The Play Between Sweet, Salty And Savory. Don't Knock The American Cheese In This; It Definitely Serves A Cheesey Good Purpose Here :-)
