Hazelnut and Raspberry Jam Linzer Tart

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup hazelnuts (3 ounces)
  2. 2 sticks ( 1/2 pound) unsalted butter, softened
  3. 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  4. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 
  6. 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  9. 2 tablespoons brandy
  10. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  11. 1 cup seedless raspberry jam
  12. 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  13. 1 large egg white, lightly beaten
