  7. 1 tablespoon Madras curry powder
  8. Salt and freshly ground pepper
  9. 2 cups whole milk
  10. 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter
  11. 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  12. About 1 quart vegetable oil, for deep frying
  13. 2 eggs
  14. 1 cup dry bread crumbs
