Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup almond flour or almond meal*
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons whipping cream
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel

  • Filling:
    • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon (generous) ground cloves
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 4 ounces almond paste,** crumbled (about 7/8 cup)
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 1/4 cups orange marmalade, divided
    • 1 tablespoon water

    Grand marnier cream:
    • 1 cup chilled heavy whipping cream
    • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
    • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
