  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons bacon drippings or vegetable oil
  • 6 ounces smoked sausage, cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
