Korean Style Chirashi

Ingredients

½ lb. beef, thinly sliced

2 c. water

2 tsp. dashi no moto

½ tsp. salt

2 c. rice, rinsed

½-3/4 c. favorite kim chee, coarsely chopped

2 TB carrots, blanched, diced

2 TB takuwan (pickled turnip), diced

2 TB watercress, blanched, chopped

Garnish:

1 egg, fried pancake style, thinly sliced

2 TB sesame seeds, toasted, crushed

Marinade:

3 TB soy sauce

2 TB brown sugar

1 stalk green onion, chopped

1 TB sesame seed oil

1 clove garlic, minced

¼ tsp. fresh ginger, grated

pinch red pepper flakes
