Kalua Pork On Taro Roll W/poi Mayo Spread & Pineapple Slaw

Ingredients

 

1 package Taro Rolls (click for recipe)

Poi Horseradish Mayonnaise Spread

1/2 Cup Poi, fresh1/4 Water1 tsp. Horseradish, prepared (to taste)2 Tblsp. Mayonnaise

Slaw Dressing:

1/2 cup sour cream1/2 cup mayonnaise2 tsp sugar1 Tbsp onion, finely chopped1 tsp lemon juice

Slaw:

1 cup red cabbage, shredded2 cups green cabbage, shredded1 cup carrots, shredded3/4 cup pineapple pieces, drained or fresh pineapple1/4 cup nuts (i used macadamia)

** feel free to add what ever you like such as raisins, nuts, apples, mandarin oranges etc


Crockpot Kalua Pork (or buy store-bought)

1 (6 pound) pork butt (or shoulder) roast1 1/2 Tablespoons Hawaiian Sea Salt….(we used Kosher salt)1 Tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring

Kalua Pork Or Kalua Pig Is Hawaii's Version Of Pulled Pork, Served On A Fresh Taro Roll And Topped With Taro Mayo And Coleslaw.
